The
Extraterrestrial Highway (Hwy 375) Leading to the Entrance to
Area
51 and Rachel, Nevada
We
first had lunch at the Little A'Le'Inn, in Rachel, Nevada,
about
150 miles from Las Vegas. It was pretty good food.
We
bought some cool gifts too (mostly
for ourselves).
Then we made our way to
the dirt road entrance to Area 51. The only road marker is the famous
"Black Mail Box," which is really white, with numerous
signatures of past guests.
(Tracy
wouldn't let me carve my initials on it...something about defacing
sacred artifacts)
The Mailbox says
"Steve Medlin HCR 80"
(Probably
some sort of secret code that allows government agents to locate him)
Right next to the
Mailbox, is "Mailbox Road" (makes sense, uh?)
Area 51 is about 15 miles down this gravel road.
We even got to see them
testing an Alien Spaceship (or
is this just a smudge on my camera lens?)
When we got to the actual
boundary, there really wasn't any kind of locked gate, but there were
the familiar signs telling us that you would be shot if you crossed the line (Hmm,
seems like I've heard that before somewhere--oh yeah, it was an elder's
meeting I once attended when the CO was visiting (if you don't know what
this means, fagetaboutit!)).
There was a SUV with dark windows
parked up on a hill overlooking the entrance. I tried to take a picture,
but they shot at us with a stolen Alien ray gun, which ruined my picture.
As far as I know, we did
not get abducted, although I have my suspicions about Tracy. She is so
damn happy, cheerful and positive all the time, I am
convinced she is an Alien-Human Hybrid. (Mulder,
where are you?)
We stopped to look at
something very "alien" to Tracy--snow. This is probably the
most snow she has seen in one place in her life. (And
damn
lucky if you ask me! Now you know why I live in Florida!)
So, what can we conclude from this visit?
1. Area 51 really does exist, and they DON'T
WANT YOU THERE!
2. The funny-white-stuff called snow really exists;
3. We had one hell of a good time; and
4. Tracy was really just "going home" for
a short visit with several of her Alien cousins. (She
even introduced me to one of her cousins)
Tracy's
cousin Bob
(By
the way, I
wonder why my watch was 30 minutes slow when we got back?
And
I have this funny cut in the back of my neck. Oh well... must have scratched it on
something.)
