Three SPIRITeam members presented topics of interest to a group of
30 paranormal researchers from Southwest and Central Florida on
Saturday, August 4, 2007.
Doug Kelley
presented, "Investigating and Researching with an
Open Mind," which discussed the impact of belief on
paranormal investigations. Doug offered his own conclusions that spirits
are just like us, with feelings, pain, and joy. He also discussed why
some people seem to be harassed by spirits, but others are not. He drew
a connection between aggressive people and aggressive spirits and how
being self-possessed prevents a person from being possessed by anyone
else, be it human or otherwise.
Chris
Quattlebaum presented "Capturing Orbs?" He discussed the
difference in pictures taken with various camera types as well as with a
polarized filter in an effort to minimize dust and vapor orbs. He showed
several pictures of tests with water and dust to show how orbs can look
and why true orbs are rare.
Grant
Rubendunst presented "Near Death Experiences," which discussed the
nature of NDEs as well as some historical accounts. His presentation
included artwork from history depicting the commonly reported tunnel of
light. Grant concluded his presentation by discussing the current
research being done.
