Rose Mencia, CPI

Ft. Lauderdale Chapter Director, Lead Investigator

Rose Mencia was born in Havana, Cuba and shortly thereafter moved to New England. She has a Bachelors degree in Design and Illustration which she used for 20 years. Now, she is a local realtor specializing in foreclosures in Broward County, Fl.

Rose's interest in the paranormal has always been present. Her grandmother was a medium and spent many afternoon’s forcing Rose’s mother to write down everything that was said while she was in trance, this in turn, prompted Rose’s mother to keep Rose and herself, away from the paranormal. It didn’t work. By the time she was 8 yrs old, she was “seeing” shapes and people walking through her home. Her mother’s efforts helped suppress some of the “sensitivity" but was not able to deter her.

Now Rose works to help others, both present and passed, to understand the circumstance and move forward.

 

Josh Friedman, CPI

Investigator

Josh was born in Miami, Florida. He has been in the construction industry for 30 years. Josh had a paranormal experience when he was very young that raised many questions. He takes a skeptical approach and strives to find natural causes to paranormal activity in an effort to obtain real evidence. When he's not searching for an answer on a spiritual level, you might find him fishing, repotting some orchids, or building something. His philosophy is "If I can see it, feel it, or taste it, it’s real. Bring It On."

 

Kevin Costa, CPI

Investigator

Kevin is a native Floridian now residing in Boca Raton, and has been an educator in Broward County for the last 28 years. His introduction began in his youth, belonging to a psychic group that worked with the police and FBI.

Skeptical of his paranormal experiences, he attended the University of West Georgia, receiving a Masters in Humanistic Psychology with a Minor in Parapsychology. It is there that he met and had the honor to work with his mentor, Dr. William Roll. Through his many experiences with the paranormal, he has never felt fear of the unknown, only a skeptical curiosity.


 

Shelia Powell, CPI

Investigator

Shelia Powell was born in North Carolina, raised in Georgia, and now lives in South Florida. She experienced psychic ability as a young child and, being in a family with gifts, she was never made to feel “different.” As she grew into her teens, however, she turned away from her gifts due to wanting to “fit in” and be like everyone else. Thankfully, she found her way back to her path and started to branch out from there.

Shelia is a gifted psychic/medium/empath...etc. She travels extensively. Most recently she was in Canada where she did a "Soul Survival" seminar with her daughter-in-law Barb Powell, who is also a professional psychic/ medium. They also did several gallery readings. She is also an avid learner and researcher on ALL subjects! She has taught seminars on many paranormal/psychic subjects and been involved in paranormal investigations from Florida to Canada. She is an ordained Minister in the Universal Life Church, as well as practices Reiki and past life regressions. Shelia does readings full-time from her website www.sheliapowell.com.

Recently, Shelia had the great fortune to have been on an investigation with Zak Bagans and crew from TV's "Ghost Adventures." She was the 1st psychic that they had ever used. She considers this a great honor. Shelia is very level headed and often questions even the facts that she "gets" from the other side. She has that natural "need to know" instilled deeply.

Shelia has been happily married for 27 to a supportive husband and has 3 kids, two boys who are 25 and 18, and one daughter who is 24. She also has 3 beautiful granddaughters aged 9, 3. and 1 ½ who are the light of her life!
